Good morning spouses!! First off, the Gunfighter Wing Annual Awards banquet was last night, and we wish to congratulate all the nominees and winners from last night. For our base spouses, Carolyn Estes from the OSC won for her volunteer efforts in 2012. Other nominees in the spouse category were Cheryl Chamberlain and Heather Estridge, who won at their squadron and group levels. Also, if you had not heard, Sunshine Burgess was voted in as Military Spouse of the Year for Mountain Home AFB through MilSpouse.com. Congratulations to all these ladies who have been recognized for their time and dedication to the families and communities surrounding MHAFB.
We had a wonderful Mardi Gras social with tons of food!!! Our President, Sunshine Burgess, addressed our spouses about behavior at mixed socials and events, and we spoke of our upcoming Butter Braid Fundraiser this March. If you have any ideas for future events or socials or even fundraisers, please email us back and let us know. This is YOUR CLUB, so we would love your input!
We also welcomed in 4 new members into the ESC family, as well as presenting Emily Smith with a Certificate of Appreciation as her and her family leave MHAFB here in the next 2 weeks. Best of luck on your new adventure!!
We had Shelley McGlamory and Amy Zuhlke from the OSC (Officer Spouses' Club) came as our guests to share with us about the OSC's Annual Scholarship Auction, which also has a Mardi Gras theme. This is an amazing and fun event for everyone, and makes for a great "date night" as well! Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Thrift Store on base Thursdays 10a-2p.
