Hey all!  Hope you had a fantastic weekend with this absolutely gorgeous weather!!  Just a few reminders and updates!

Tuesday, May 1st is our general ESC meeting*** at Liberty Chapel.  We will no longer be meeting at the annex, because we heard through the grapevine it's being torn down this summer after privatization, so we changed venues.  RSVP here on the evite yourself and number of children you need childcare for or on Facebook.  Wear comfy clothes as afterwards we will be learning self defense from Mark from the Fitness Center!

*** PLEASE REMEMBER WE WILL BE TAKING DONATIONS FOR CAPT. IMLAY'S CHILDREN AT THIS MEETING.

Saturday, May 5th is our LUAU!!!  Get your grass skirts, camp shirts and bring the whole family for a fun tropical time!  Please RSVP HERE on the evite with guests and kid count.  You can always RSVP on Facebook too.   We are asking members attending to bring a side dish, dessert or drink.  We will be listing what we need a the meeting, so we don't get any doubles :)

Here is our Breakfast Burrito Fundraiser Flyer.  Print out and distribute, or forward it to your spouses and squadrons.  Let's make this a big fundraiser for our club and get some money into that scholarship fund!!!  We are looking for volunteers, as we already have a possible order for 100 burritos for one of the squadrons, so we will need the help!!

Are you Spring Cleaning and ready to sell items that are cluttering up your house and garage? Get a space at this year's Community Yard Sale! 19 May - 8am to 12 noon. Spaces are only $10 and it includes an 8ft table and chairs. Need more room? Each additional space is discounted - only $7 each! Call the Community Center for more details or to get your space. Spaces are limited. 828-2246

We encourage all spouses to attend Heart Link and think about volunteering your time as a Key Spouse.  Heart Link is this Friday, April 27th and Key Spouse Initial Training is May 1st.  Call the A&FRC to get times and register yourself!  The more involved you are, the more you know!!  828-2458.

Member Spotlight: Melissa Marzullo

Meet Melissa Marzullo!! Originally from Lynnwood, Washington (North of Seattle), her husband is Joseph Richard Marzullo, TSgt, 726ACS and they've been married for 6 yrs and known each other since 1992. They have two daughters Samantha & Cassandra.

Here's a bit about Melissa in her own words:

Daily life as a stay home mom who has a life limiting disability called narcolepsy. Full time college student working on an Associate of Science degree in Accounting through Colorado Technical University. Struggling to figure how to pay the college debt as I started after most scholarship deadlines hit. I am a former professional photographer, now a hobbyist. I love crafts. I firmly believe in always bettering yourself, current ways are by learning to garden. I am a former banker, specializing in payment research and basic accounting. Wish I could find a part time paying job in this town!

Because I am a disabled person, military life was not for me. I come from a family that has had someone in every generation serve the country since before the civil war. Being an Air Force wife, is the only way I can serve without serving. I give my husband up to do what the country needs. I don't complain. By supporting him, his squadron, the base, I am giving my country the only part of my life I can. I am proud to be a military wife as there is no other life quite like it. While I've not been too involved in the ESC yet, just knowing there is support out there should I need it, makes a world of difference.

Advice Melissa has to give to a new AF spouse - Get involved, in your squadron, in ESC, in clubs. The more connections you have, the better off you are during deployments.

Second, we have learned that the Chapel Annex is set to be torn down.  We have moved our meetings to the Liberty Chapel itself.  Our next meeting is Tuesday, May 1st at 6:30pm.  We will be having Mark from the Fitness Center coming to teach us some self defense basics.  You should have received an 'evite' for this as well as one for our May Luau Social, Saturday, May 5th at 6pm!  It should be an amazingly fun time for all at both events.  Please plan on attending and encourage other spouses and those new to base to come check it out!!

Memorial Service for Capt. Imlay - April 6th

Captain Dee "Piston" Imlay Memorial - 10 a.m. April 6 in Hangar 208

Fellow Gunfighters,

A memorial service will be held for Captain Dee "Piston" Imlay at 10 a.m. April 6 in Hangar 208. Civilians are invited to attend in casual business attire and military in UOD.

Captain Imlay, 391st Fighter Squadron, died March 28 in an accident involving an F-15E Strike Eagle near a base in Southwest Asia. Capt Imlay was a tremendous fighter pilot who played a vital role in supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. As a member of one of the world's most advanced and highly skilled fighter squadrons, Piston had an enormous impact on our Gunfighter mission.

This memorial service will allow Gunfighters to come together, pay our respects and mourn our tremendous loss as a family. The family of Captain Imlay very much appreciates the outpouring of support that they have received from their friends, the local community and their fellow Gunfighters.

Capt Imlay Biography

Thirty-one year old Air Force Capt. Dee Imlay is a 1998 graduate of Lakenheath, England High School. He grew up in a military family and lived in locations all over the world. He joined the Air Force on June 12, 2004, after being recognized as the Distinguished Graduate in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at Auburn University, Ala. Imlay's first assignment was an instructor pilot at Sheppard AFB, Texas. He began training to become an F-15E pilot at Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C., and was assigned to Mountain Home AFB as an F-15E pilot in Oct 2010. He was an F-15E flight lead with more than 2,500 hours total flying time in the T-37, T-38, T-6 and F-15E. His Air Force decorations included the Air Force Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Although he was an outstanding serviceman, he will be remembered most as a loving husband and father of two.

Very Respectfully,
Col Buckley

ESC Members, please check your email for information regarding child care during the service or contact Cheryl Chamberlain if you need the information.  Thank you.
